Description
Hutter Putter GE 7FA Gas Turbine Rotor Turning Drive –
Model# RTD-7FA
We offer 2 models of Hutter Putters for rotating GE’s most popular gas turbine, the 7FA. The purpose of the 7FA Hutter Putters are to rotate the turbine rotor train at slow variable speeds in order to increase worker safety during outages and to reduce overall outage time. If the OEM turning gear is still in place, then our Hutter Putter Model RTD-12 electrical panel is used to safely rotate the rotor train slowly when its wired directly to the turning gear motor leads and it will not harm the motor. If, however, the gas turbine rotor needs to be turned to change out the turbine blades in the machine, then we would add in our Hutter Putter Model RTD-7FA, which rotates the unbalanced 7FA gas turbine rotor at its coupling hub. This allows for safe changeout of unbalanced blading while the rotor is still in the unit. It also allows for compressor tip grinding work as well. The Model RTD-7FA clamps right to your compressor bell housing and to the coupling hub and therefore requires no removal of the coupling bolts! This model saves time, up to several days of blading worktime every outage.
